Sleeveless tie-neck blouse

Today I am sharing a pattern for a simple yet still beautiful top – a sleeveless tie neck blouse. This blouse is suitable for a casual Friday at work, or a weekend day out. Just put on a blazer and you are ready to go for a semi-formal meeting also!

What I like about this top is how versatile it is to tie the neck ribbon. You can either make a bow at the neck base, or tie it loosely at your chest. It can also be mixed with skirts, pants or shorts, casual or formal clothing and still be so stylish!

This simple top can be used for both regular and petite sizes. It has a length of about 60cm/23.6in and a slightly curved design. You should sew it using soft and flowy fabric which can give the top a feminine feel.

I am making nested patterns, and you can easily download all the sizes for the top in just one go. This helps save a lot of time for those who want to sew for many others with different sizes.

The blouse is made with bias binding at the neckline and the armholes, and because you may all know about bias binding, I do not put the pattern for a bias tape here. Hope you won't mind my laziness!

Check for your size in the Size Chart before cutting to ensure you are getting the right size. I am trying to come up with a uniform size chart for all of the garments I design but have not succeeded yet, so please bear with me posting size charts in all posts. I will soon find out a good size chart for my patterns in the near future!

The pattern is made without any seam allowances, which means when you cut the fabric, you need to leave room for sewing. Normally, the seams at the neckline and armholes are about 0.8cm or 1/3in, and the shoulder seams and side seams are about 1.5cm or 5/8in, the seam allowance at the hemline can be 2.5cm or 1in.

The hemline can be lengthened to your liking, just draw the side seam to your desired length and draw the new hemline parallel to the original hemline.

After taping all the pages, you will see the pattern like this:

A. Front Piece - 1pcs cut on fold
B. Back Piece – 1pcs cut on fold
C. Neck tie – 1pcs cut on fold
D. Bias tape to finish neckline and armholes

Hope you enjoy sewing this darling, I would love to receive your feedback!
